: One of the common issues I had while writing Litany Lane and it’s multiple successors
is that I could never get the romance between Clara and Fierro just right. And
in the middle of writing this I realized why. Clara and Fierro aren’t
romantically suited for each other. I could write a million romantic flirty and
or dirty scenes with Fierro/Lucie and Clara/Peter(Niklas) because I an
see a future there. I can see them as a couple. Every time Clara or Fierro
kissed or got pants feelings it felt .
. . off. I just couldn’t see them as husband and wife.

: So what’s the deal here ?
Lils : I mean look Clara and Fierro are still cursed and if I will ever resolve that. . . . I have no flipping idea. I’m never saying never. But I will say that the last scene sort of reset Fierro and Clara to their start in Litany Lane. I wanted it to be a scene that could have been a part of Litany Lane.
Yes,
they are still going to live together and raise Rose and pay off their debt, but
they are no long engaged and have no plans to be a couple…. They are parents,
friends, and business partners. And occasionally lovers.

What about Clarence what does he remember?
Clarence’s memories are hazy. He’s not really sure what happened but he would be up for another adventure

Can’t say. Like Essex would know the answer to these things if we dedicated more study to them. I’ll just say Victor pissed someone off who banished him there. So there.

I tried very
very hard to keep this simple but it of course got complex. I can sort of trace
this idea back to two things. One, I always said I imagined Litany Lane ending
in a masquerade where Fierro, Clara and Emile are on the run. Hence why there
is a masquerade in Litany Lane (~Chapter 11). And two in Litany Lane and Iris I
hinted that Clara and Victor’s family had some shared history. This was very clearly inspired by some classic horror stories like Carrie (which is lampshaded) and Poltergeist.
