Loose Ends
Misdirection
Yes, this story was written with the idea of misdirection in mind. As the story progressed and fleshed itself out I realized that it served several purposes.
Rosalie
Apart from the fact the Rosalie was literally born a souless child (yes, I know what was I thinking) it had nothing to do with her presence in the story. Instead most of her actions were done as a result of being abused. She has tantrums because she is filled with so much anger that her mother was blind to.The only reason Rosalie constantly asked Clara what would happen when Clara died was because she was afraid of having to live with Martin without Clara
. (In the first chapter Clara defends Rosalie from Martin, btw I'm sure this sounds alot more like me.)
This also explains her avoidance to men. Many people were upset when Clara pushed her and she didn't cry, that was sadly because she was used to it.
You Are Not the Father
I would say Rosalie's other mystery was who her father was. As you all caught on Mr. Fierro, Peter or Victor could have been her father. (this probably makes Clara look really bad).
However Rosalie's desert sand colored eyes were only the direct result of her genes and not because she was evil. She has Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome and most of the blood was from constant nose bleeds.
Lucie and Victor
I never set out to redeem Lucie in this story, it wasn't until Rosalie's story became fully recognized that Lucie started playing a larger role in it. I knew Rosalie needed an ally. Of course Lucie is torn because she feels as if Rosalie should have been her daughter but the fact that she has come to terms with it will help her find happiness. As a result she will spend the rest of her days in the old abbey while keeping her family safe from Victor.
Victor on the other hand hated being King of Nightfall and has decided to pass the curse to another royal family. Was Victor redeemed too . . . I'm not convinced.
It was stated somewhere that Specrtre hardly ever meet one another so being alone, Victor and Lucie have a love-hate friendship.
Peter
I know I know ): I felt like JK Rowling when you all started gushing over Peter. However Peter was planning on committing suicide by the time Clara came along. The only other person he cared about and the fact that she could never be honest with him was the tipping point. It was established that Peter left his family home to pursue music but he was still forced into politics. His apartment wasn't lived in, he ate out alone every night. .. . however he was murdered so he would be in Litany Lane and I can say he is doing fine.
Tarot Cards
Also the tarot card from chapter 4 and 6 are the Death Tarot card which features a white rose. The card is not actually death but the triumph of death which Mr. Fierro and Clara (and Rose) do, this also hints as to why he doesn't have a life line.

Don't you think Victor came off kind of like a pedophile ?
Yeah, I caught that in the end.
Didn't Victor give up a little too easily ?
Victor was able to get what he wanted by causing Clara to suffer. Not to mention she will have to live with the guilt of killing her childhood best friend, the man she wanted to come home to and Marry. . . again. And the obvious she will have to watch her daughter die one day and she won't be able to have any other children );
Where are they at the end of the story ?

Is it a coincidence that both male leads in your serials are smokers and carry lighters ?
No, but remember what Victor said about fire in chapter 7 of LL. (ctr + F fire)
What about Peter ?
Clara will find out about Peter but it will take her years to put two and two together.
WTF ? Where was Emile ?
I know I know, he didn't fit into the ending but aren't you glad I didn't kill him off. He ends up moving to London and teaching at King's college, where he meets a new partner.

I wrote it as I posted the story and received comments.. . this is only half.
I had a little to much fun doing this.
What you all really want to know ?
So is this the end of Linda Leigh ? When I original wrote this it was. I do enjoy writing about Clara and Addison and while I didn't leave an opening for a pentalogy I didn't exactly make it case closed either. However this SA thing keeps me busy.
I want to thank you all for joining me in my writing adventures. It is truly something I haven't done since high school and never thought I would be good at. I can't tell you how much better I feel about myself knowing I can do more in my spare time than shop.
